Ideally located
in the heart of the Latin Quarter
The Hotel Oratio is ideally located in one of the most legendary districts of Paris, the Latin Quarter.
The city's historic birthplace, this district is special in many ways. Here, a cosmopolitan population intermingles, giving this part of Paris a special charm and character. Over the centuries, intellectuals and students, vacationers and visitors, fun-seekers and lovers have walked these streets, and now it’s your turn...
History buffs will be delighted to discover, just a few metres from the hotel, some of the treasures of the Parisian heritage. As you walk down the Rue des Bernardins, you will soon happen across the Seine, a loyal friend of the neighbourhood, its serene flow caressing the Ile de la Cité, the island upon which stands the most famous cathedral in the world: Notre-Dame de Paris. Cross the bridge to discover it or walk along the quay to the Arab World Institute and the magnificent Jardin des Plantes, with its zoo and tropical greenhouses.
Heading in the other direction, to the south, you will find the Pantheon. If you push on a little further east, you can explore the districts of Saint-Michel, Odéon, and Saint-Germain des Prés, but especially the Jardin du Luxembourg, affectionately known as Le Luco, and its palace in which the Senate sits.
Don’t miss the opportunity to savour the unique charm of this village-like part of the city by strolling its typical streets.
And when your adventures give you an appetite, a wide selection of restaurants, brasseries, pâtisseries and chocolateries - often considered the best in the capital - are ready to share their delicious creations with you! So be sure to stop by the oldest restaurant in Paris, the Tour d'Argent, to taste the delicacies of Pierre Hermé or go for a wander around the cheerful aisles of the Place Monge Market.
Our hotel's central location is ideal for easy travel all over Paris and visiting the capital’s most beautiful monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré Coeur Basilica, the Louvre, the Opera and the Grands Magasins department stores, but we are also well situated for discovering vibrant places in the Marais, the Butte Montmartre, the Sentier and Rue Montorgueil.
